We might be Island Hopping, but we still appear to be on Islay. Alas, Calmac have had to cancel some ferrys due to mild breezes and a chip shortage. We've decided to make the most of our extra stay on this most distilleried of islands and bottle a very special and rather extreme Bruichladdich. This is a mult-vintage, small batch Bruichladdich (very much in classical Decadent Drinks style). It's a 20 year old marriage of a v.05 1st fill bourbon barrel, and a v.02 1st fill ex-sauternes barrique. These two casks were married for over a year in the former Whiskyland Chapter One sherry butt. We've bottled this mix at 53% to help add the finishing invisible stitches. This is another take on Island single malt: powerful, earthy, salty, umami and intense!
